University of Virginia

Business Intelligence Congress: Dec 11-12, 2010

If you are a BI professional seeking to engage with a combined group of like-minded business professionals and academic researchers/educators, then please consider attending the BI Congress II!  The Congress is being co-located with the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) - the premier world-wide information systems conference for academics and CIOs.  It takes place on the evening before and the first day of the ICIS conference: the evening of December 11th, 2010 and all day on December 12th.  There will be paper presentations, panels, networking, and an exciting keynote speaker.

Industry collaborators are encouraged to co-author submissions for the Research or Teaching Track with academic colleagues. If there are any questions about the suitability of such a joint submission, please don't hesitate to e-mail Barbara Wixom, Conference Co-Chair at bwixom@virginia.edu. We also hope to engage industry participants as paper reviewers and discussants. If you are interested in either of these roles, please contact Nenad Jukic or Dan Power.

We believe that strong industry involvement is critical for the success of BI Congress II. Academics can expect many opportunities to work with industry participants, such as during hands-on software tutorials, the career panel, keynote talks, research track, and the many networking opportunities throughout the event.

While academic attendees will most likely attend the ICIS conference simultaneously with  the BI Congress, many of our industry collaborators will be attending only the BI Congress.  Special registration rates are available for industry participants either through pre-registration or at the day of the event, space allowing.

We look forward to seeing you in St. Louis!
